Sk8room heeft een nieuwe samenwerking met een kunstenaar. Sk8room is een platform geweid aan de bevordering, de verkoop en de productie van kunst op skateboards. Ze hebben al meerdere keren samengewerkt met kunstenaars. Deze keer is het niemand minder dan Ai Weiwei. Ai Weiwei (Chinese conceptuele kunstenaar) heeft in elk board een van zijn bekendste kunstwerken toegepast met daarbij een inspirerende tekst. De kunstenaar kon helaas niet alle boards voorzien van zijn handtekening door zijn relatie met de Chinese regering.
20% van de winst gaat naar een non profit organisatie genaamd Skateistan. De organisatie gebruikt skateboarding als middel om de empowerment en vaardigheden van de jeugd te verbeteren. Ook komen jongeren hierdoor met elkaar in contact.
